Sidewalk Concrete Leveling

Frequently asked questions

Why do sidewalks sink or become uneven?
Sidewalks often settle because of soil erosion, poor compaction, tree roots, or water intrusion under the slab. Along the Gulf Coast, heavy rainfall and fluctuating water tables are common causes. Over time, voids form beneath the concrete, creating trip hazards and uneven slabs.
We drill small holes into the slab and inject high-density polyurethane foam. The foam expands beneath the concrete, fills voids, and gently lifts the sidewalk back toward its original level. The process is precise, quick, and minimally invasive.
One of the biggest advantages of Poly Foam is its rapid cure time. Most sidewalks are ready for foot traffic within 30 minutes of repair, meaning minimal downtime or inconvenience.
In most cases, yes. Leveling is 40–70% less expensive than replacement, faster, and avoids tearing out and hauling away old concrete. It also addresses the root cause (soil voids), whereas replacement without soil stabilization may eventually lead to the same issues.
Leveling corrects the elevation of slabs and often closes gaps between panels. However, existing surface cracks may remain visible. After leveling, we recommend sealing joints and cracks to keep water out and improve the appearance.
Yes. StrongHold® Poly Foam is eco-friendly, inert, and closed-cell, meaning it won’t leach chemicals, wash out with water, or deteriorate over time. It’s designed specifically for use in soil and moisture-prone areas.
We can lift a single panel, multiple panels, or an entire sidewalk depending on the scope of the issue. During your free inspection, we’ll identify which areas need repair so you’re not paying for unnecessary work.
Because the foam resists moisture and soil erosion, repairs are designed to be long-lasting. With sealed joints and good drainage, you can expect many years of stable, level sidewalks.
No. The equipment is compact, the injection holes are small (about ⅝″), and the foam expands only where injected. Our crews take care to avoid landscaping and utilities while performing the lift.
Costs depend on the number of panels, size of the lift, and site access. It’s typically much more cost-effective than replacement. MDH offers free estimates and financing options to fit most budgets.
